Aromatherapy & Gong Meditation
1 February @ 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Sunday 1 February | 6.30pm – 8.00pm
Venue: Water Lane United Reformed Church
Aromatherapy and gong meditation evening offers a calm and structured way to properly switch off at the end of the week. This Sunday evening session is designed for everyone who want to relax deeply, without pressure, awkward moments or anything over the top.
During the session, guided aromatherapy works alongside gong meditation to help your body move out of stress mode and into deep rest. As a result, many people find it easier to relax both mentally and physically. You do not need any previous experience, flexibility or spiritual belief. Instead, you simply need to arrive, get comfortable and rest.
Who runs this aromatherapy and gong meditation session?
The gong meditation is led by experienced sound practitioner Mark Owen-Ward. He uses therapeutic gong sound to support relaxation and help regulate the nervous system.
Meanwhile, the aromatherapy is guided by Ina, founder of SkinSoak. She carefully selects essential oil blends to promote calm, grounding and comfort.
Together, sound and scent create a soothing and supportive environment.
What happens during the aromatherapy and gong meditation session?
First, you arrive and settle onto a zero gravity chair or your own mat.
Next, gentle aromatherapy is introduced into the room through the air. No oils are applied to the body unless you prefer this and give consent.
Then, the gong meditation begins and continues for around 80 minutes.
During this time, you remain fully clothed while lying or reclining, simply listening and resting.
Finally, the session ends slowly, and you are offered herbal tea to help you re-ground before heading home.
At any point, you can sit up, change position or step outside if needed.
